According to the Fall 2009 online issue of Massage Envy magazine, massage therapy combined with exercise and relaxation is one of the ways to unwind. Aside from providing a respite from stress, it could also revive one’s energy. Residents of South Tampa 33629, Downtown Tampa, Macdill AFB and Hyde Park can ask for Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage therapy, sports massage therapy or pregnancy massage therapy from a massage therapy clinic in Tampa.
Massage Envy magazine recommends being sensitive to one’s energy levels. Although the body does not have a gauge that indicates when one is low on energy, you can sense your depressed mood and lethargy. In such instances, Massage Envy suggests going on a brisk walk outdoors. A short ten minute walk can reportedly raise your energy for over two hours. That’s a worthy investment of time and effort with great returns. In an earlier issue, the magazine quotes Pete McCall, an exercise physiologist who is also the spokesman for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), as saying, “I think everyone should get out and be active on a regular basis.”
Of course, Massage Envy highly endorses getting regular massage in order to relax and regain energy. In fact, it further quotes McCall saying that massage therapy should follow after exercise or any demanding physical activity. “Massage helps the muscle tissue recover from that stress,” he says, “and the more active you are, the more often you need a massage.” Massage Envy agrees that massage therapy should always be part of one’s fitness regimen.
Getting regular and frequent massage therapy sessions maintains body flexibility, improving pre-workout and post-workout stretching. It enables one to be prepared for exercise and enables one to recover more quickly from the exertion.
In the Summer 2009 issue of Massage Envy magazine, Amy Lynn Smith writes on how to maximize exercise opportunities outside the gym. Smith cites the spokesman of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Walt Thompson, Ph.D., saying “Look at your environment and determine what kinds of activities you can do.”
Thompson says even chores at home can be transformed into exercise. “My riding mower conked out last year,” he says. “I decided to use my push mower instead-and when I realized how much exercise I was getting I put off fixing my riding mower.”
Smith adds that there are other exercise options one can do in one’s backyard. You can actually bring your yoga mat outside and o your yoga poses there. You could also take out other portable exercise equipment such as dumbbells, exercise bands, a medicine ball and a jump rope.
Smith also points out that there are usually parks and other recreation areas with hiking paths, biking paths and outdoor exercise possibilities in every town and city. Once again, Smith quotes Pete McCall who says you can even exercise on the public playground. He says, “As long as there aren’t any kids on it, use the jungle gym to do various exercises like pull-ups. Just climbing around on a jungle gym is good exercise.”
McCall also supports walking as good exercise, saying you can increase its fitness benefits by adding body weight exercises in some stops, creating your own customized version of circuit training outdoors instead of in the gym. “Use a ledge or bench for step-ups, or do some push-ups in the park,” McCall says.
Beat stress and fatigue while boosting your energy by combining your exercise regimen with massage therapy. Experience the benefits of Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage therapy, sports massage therapy or pregnancy massage therapy from a professional massage therapy clinic in South Tampa 33629, Downtown Tampa, Macdill AFB and Hyde Park.
